Privacy

This page says exactly what we collect, what we never collect, and how long anything lasts. It is short because the system is small.

Your recording

Your recording is never stored by us. It streams through our server to the transcription provider and is not written to disk or to any bucket at any point.

The provider's copy is deleted the moment the transcript is finished, and the deletion is verified rather than assumed. Files may be up to 10 hours long.

If a transcription fails, the provider keeps its copy for up to 7 days so the job can be retried, and it is then deleted and verified the same way. That is the only case in which any audio outlives the request that carried it.

The transcript text itself is stored, because that is the thing you came back for. You can delete it, and deleting it deletes the text.

Cookies we set

tl_ad_source — a short channel label such as "google_pl" or "direct", recording which advertisement or link brought you here. Set for 7 days, HttpOnly, readable only by our server.

tl_gclid — Google's click identifier, present only if you arrived from a Google advertisement. Set for 30 days, HttpOnly. It exists so we can tell Google which of its clicks led to a purchase, which we do server-side; we do not run Google's tracking script and there is no third-party analytics on this site.

Sign-in cookies from our authentication provider, which are what keep you signed in.

Your IP address

We never store your IP address. To stop one person from consuming the free tier repeatedly, we store a keyed hash of it alongside a date and a count, and nothing else.

The key that produces the hash is held outside the database, so the stored value cannot be reversed back to an address even by someone holding a copy of the data. That table carries no account identifier, so a hash cannot be linked to a person.

Who else sees anything

One sub-processor: AssemblyAI, which performs the transcription. Nobody else receives your audio or your transcript.

We do not sell data, we do not use your recordings to train anything, and we do not run advertising or analytics scripts on this site.
